Visiting Assistant Professor
The Department of Family and Consumer Studies (FCS) at the University of Utah invites applications for a nine-month visiting assistant professor in family financial planning. The expected teaching load for this position is three courses per semester, with courses pertaining to personal finance and financial planning. The department hopes to attract a candidate who also wishes to actively engage in research. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Summer support via teaching opportunities may also be available, but is not guaranteed. The start date will be August of 2018.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should: (1) hold a PhD in family finance, financial planning, finance, economics, consumer economics or a related field in social sciences (advanced doctoral candidates will be considered); (2) have the demonstrated ability or strong potential for effective teaching in both face-to-face and online formats; and (3) have the ability to engage in service activities related to the Financial Planning Program. Preference will be given to candidates who have a relevant professional certification (such as CFP®, CFA®, or PFS®) or are willing to obtain such certification.
