Planning Specialties

Daniel leads Plancorp's Silicon Valley office and specializes in helping busy professionals optimize complex retirement and equity compensation plans. Daniel helps his clients balance and organize, as well as work closely with their accountants to project the tax implications of, incentive stock options (ISO), non-qualified stock options (NQSO), restricted stocks, restricted stock units (RSU), employee stock purchase programs (ESPP), and non-qualified deferred compensation (NQDC). He guides clients with liquidity events, either through an acquisition or IPO, by helping them diversify their concentrated stock positions and has experience helping clients avoid federal capital gains tax for stocks that qualify for Section 1202 (QSBS).

 

Additional Information

Daniel earned a BS in Economics and BCN (Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience) from the University of Michigan. He is an award winning instructor at the UC Berkeley Extension Personal Financial Planning program and also serves on their Advisory Board. 

In his free time, Daniel stays active by playing basketball, golfing, and traveling to spend time with family and friends. He is a devoted fan of his Michigan Wolverines football and basketball teams.
