I strongly believe in wealth management as a discipline and a professional process. The value of providing customized and ongoing investment management within the context of detailed and ongoing financial planning just seems a matter of common sense. Add to this the fact that modern technology now makes these services affordable and you finally have a recipe for a true advisory relationship.
Additional Information
I originally intended to open a firm that focused strictly on investment management, and there are two main reasons why I decided to earn the CFP® designation and become a financial planner:
- I kept asking myself the question "How can I (or anyone) manage a clients investments properly if not done withing the context of a financial plan?"
- My parents were bombarded by sales people when my dad retired, and they couldn't find anyone to help them who didn't seem to have a product sales agenda.
When asked what I like best about my job, I say that it's the creative and strategic thinking that I get to do, in order to present my clients with a smart path forward. I really like getting to know them and then finding the best strategies for them.
