Planning Specialties

We do the financial planning in a series of face-to-face working sessions. The financial planning process is a great opportunity to stop – breathe – and see the current financial situation clearly. As we address various financial decisions, the underlying question always comes back to what really matters to you. As the Cheshire Cat said when Alice asked which way she should go, "That depends a great deal upon where you want to get to." And so financial planning begins with clarifying and prioritizing "where you want to get to." When you take action steps that are aligned with your own core values, there is an empowerment and confidence that is difficult to attain in any other way, and you definitely move forward toward accomplishing your goals.

Additional Information

In 1994, my move into financial planning was a career change after 20 years in the arts and humanities. I had graduated from Wellesley College in 1972, and then completed an MA in Performing Arts Management from American University in 1977, and had worked in philanthropy, art education, and theater. Between 1994 and 1997 I was a financial planner at Delessert Financial Services. I started my solo practice, "Values," after completing my CFP in 1997.
