Planning Specialties
Doyle Ranstrom is a Certified Financial Planner® with a Master's in Financial Planning and a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor. With over 40 years in the financial service business, I am experienced in all areas of financial planning. We are a fee-only firm billed hourly and clients can be assured of informed impartial advice and recommendations.
We specialize in pre-retirement planning, post-retirement planning, cash flow, money management, risk management, and estate planning.
Regarding money management, we help clients develop a money management strategy using a series of investment criteria. As an hourly planner, we do not manage money or represent any type of investment product. There is a saying, "you do not know what you do not know" and a primary objective is to educate clients on all types of investment options and strategies helping them make the best possible decisions for their situation.
In the past 40+ years, there have been many changes in the financial service business and long-term financial planning. In this new normal, and I do believe we are in a new normal, it is essential each individual/household review their current financial status and all aspects of their long-term financial plan. This is especially important for those who are retired or are approaching retirement as I suspect the margin for error has decreased.
Additional Information
On my website along with various social media websites, I write a weekly blog on various topics which range from financial planning concerns, commentaries on current events especially as they relate to long-term planning and humorous articles based on personal experiences.
I also write a commentary for the Lone Peak Lookout in Big Sky, MT.
I have developed a presentation entitled "Long Term Trends Which May Affect Your Future or the New Normal" which I have given at various venues. I believe this presentation is very important as it relates to long-term planning.
Personally, I am an avid reader of various genres. I also enjoy outdoor activities including bicycling, hiking, and cross-country skiing. I have biked across 20 states including the US in 2011. Finally, I am an obnoxiously proud grandparent.
