As a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner, Susan helps people make good financial decisions by analyzing their overall personal financial situation and helping them to uncover and prioritize their goals. She was drawn to the field of financial planning by the opportunity to help people in all areas of their financial lives. Susan also enjoys the continuous learning aspect of the profession, which is necessary to stay up to date on the latest developments.

With brokerage, asset management and RIA private wealth management experience, Susan has an extensive background in investment management and comprehensive financial planning. Having weathered numerous market cycles, including market crashes, recessions, and global crises has given Susan the necessary perspective to support clients and help them stay the course during times of market stress. Beyond managing investment portfolios, she proactively assists with the implementation of financial planning decisions on behalf of clients. This includes coordinating with their other professionals, such as accountants, estate planning attorneys and insurance brokers. During her career, Susan has created comprehensive financial plans for hundreds of clients, guiding those individuals and families through the financial planning process, helping them to reach their goals and achieve financial peace of mind.

Susan partners with clients to design comprehensive investment and planning strategies that recognize their unique personal and financial goals. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with three decades of experience in the financial services industry, Susan enjoys building long lasting client relationships, using her background in investments and financial planning to add value to clients through thoughtful financial advice.

Susan is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the Washington Women’s Financial Planning Study Group. She actively supports various FPA pro bono financial counseling programs and worked directly with families impacted by the September 11th terrorist attacks on the Pentagon, as well as service members injured in combat in the Middle East at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In the community, Susan has been involved with Fairfax Pets on Wheels, Rebuilding Together, and volunteers with animal rescue groups.

Prior to joining SageVest, Susan had extensive experience working for a national brokerage firm, an institutional money manager and several fee-only registered investment advisors. Susan graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Foreign Affairs.
