Learn the Basics of Comprehensive Financial Planning
NAPFA has developed a unique two day educational program for new and prospective Fee-Only financial advisors: Basic Training. Designed and led by veteran NAPFA members, Basic Training is your chance to hear “insider” information from high performers who have seen it all and done it all. Using a highly interactive format with a case study and extensive Q&A, Basic Training will propel your business forward by years. Basic Training is held 5 times per year in conjunction with NAPFA’s largest conferences. Basic Training - Day 1 At the Conference Among the major topics: business structures, marketing; meeting with prospective client, setting fees, contracts and client agreements, technology software and hardware, and counseling and communicating with clients. Basic Training - Day 2 At the Conference The centerpiece of the program is the Case Study on Day Two. The Case Study is fairly complex so that you can gain insight into the technical issues included in a comprehensive financial plan. You will receive an advance copy of the case for review. During the Case Study presentations, two NAPFA members will walk you through the case – explaining what they did and did not choose to recommend for the client. Our presenters prepare their Case Study plans independently – so you have a chance to see how their analysis and recommendations might differ. They are often likely to use different financial planning software too, so you’ll gain some insight into the range of products available to planners. There’s no better way to understand what goes into a comprehensive financial planning engagement than to see it presented by two experience NAPFA members. Meet NAPFA members Your registration for Basic Training automatically includes you in all NAPFA conference meals, breaks, and networking activities. It’s a great way to make contacts in the Fee-Only planning business and find NAPFA members in your local area. Who Should Attend
